Hojjat al-Islam Dr. Masoud Azarbayjani stated that the Quran has come to rescue servants from human bondage, saying: The ultimate model for spiritual health is presented in the Quran; through purification, obstacles can be removed to attain a goodly life. The scientific session “Approaching God for Spiritual Health” was held on Wednesday, the 12th of Dey, at the Institute of Seminaries and Universities.
Hojjat al-Islam Masoud Azarbayjani, a researcher at the Institute of Seminaries and Universities and the author of the book “Spiritual Health,” was one of the speakers at this session and said: The roots and foundations of spiritual health have been established in the Institute of Seminaries and Universities for years, and in the last decade, some parts of it have been practically realized. It can be said that writing these books is a good job that has been fully addressed from idea to action in medical foundations. He continued: The latest book that has entered the writing field is the book “Spiritual Health,” which is compiled in seven sections. The first chapter of the book is about generalities and discusses the history and necessities of spiritual health and, for the first time, examines the background of spiritual health. The second chapter of the book deals with the fundamentals of spiritual health, and the third chapter clarifies the nature of spiritual health, which has been addressed through a method of semantics.
Hojjat al-Islam Azarbayjani added: In the fourth chapter, the structures of spiritual health are discussed, and four words of purification, piety, a goodly life, and a sound heart are introduced. Based on these four words and relying on piety, which is the central force in these matters, one can achieve spiritual health. The fifth chapter is about assessing spiritual health, which is presented in four sections so that individuals can assess their own spiritual health. The sixth chapter deals with the conflicts and challenges that occur throughout life, affecting the field of spiritual health, and provides solutions on how to cope with these challenges. The seventh chapter, which is the last chapter of the book, provides skills for spiritual health, explaining five skills of spiritual thinking, repentance, supplication, reliance, and forgiveness. He stated: The Holy Quran gives a deep promise for spiritual health, saying “Certainly there has come to you from Allah a light and a clear Book, wherewith Allah guides those who seek His pleasure to the ways of peace, and He brings them out of darkness into light by His will, and guides them to a straight path” meaning if one follows the path of God’s pleasure, God will provide ways of health for him and at least the meaning of peace, spiritual health, is implied. Hojjat al-Islam Azarbayjani added: Peace is one of the most meaningful words in the Quran, which we see in numerous verses. The Holy Quran not only specifies the light and path of spiritual health for humans but also embodies tangible examples of spiritual health in the prophets for us and seeks to show humans the paths of life through the stories of the prophets on how to attain spiritual health. He added: The Quran has come to rescue servants from human bondage, and the ultimate model for spiritual health is presented in the Quran; through purification, obstacles can be removed to attain a goodly life and divine satisfaction is the indicator of the path we must take to reach it. A goodly life strengthens a force called piety in humans and leads us to the center of a sound heart and attains spiritual health.
